Sonerila ThumbRheedea is planning a special issue on the angiosperm family Melastomataceae, a diversified group of mostly wet tropical ecosystems which has gained an increased attention towards its pattern of distribution and remarkable explosive evolution. Rheedea invites manuscripts covering all aspects of neotropical and paleotropical Melastomataceae research. 

Please consider contributing your recent findings in Melastomataceae research for this special issue.

On 30 December 2021, Prof. K.S. Manilal received the prestigious Padma Shri award of the Republic of India, from Dr. Narasimhugari T L Reddy, District Collector, Kozhikode. Due to health issues, he was unable to receive the award from the Honb'le President of India.Manilal

 

EmblemDue to the prevailing circumstances and orders issued by Government of India and State Government of Maharashtra regarding CoviD-19 pandemic and other advisories issued by the Department of Health and Family Affairs, the organizing commitee has decided to postpone the 31st IAAT Conference till further notice. Professor K.S. Manilal, former HoD of Department of Botany, University of Calicut, and the founder of Indian Association for Angiosperm Taxonomy (IAAT) has been honoured with Padma Shri Award 2020. He was also a recipient of Dr. Janki Ammal Award. He is Chief Editor of the International journal Rheedea, named after van Rheede, and recipient of the prestigious E.K. Janaki Ammal Award for Taxonomy (2003) from the Ministry of Environment & Forests, Government of India. Professor Manilal has written over 200 research papers and 16 books. of which 90 papers and 5 books are on the Hortus Malabaricus.
